~Pack Instinct~I firmly believe that even after so many years of domesticity ‘pack instinct’ remains in dogs. Heirachy is vital for group living species. For the domestic dog heirachy starts to show itself from about week three of age. Most humans operate in a heirachial structure and this has helped our survival and we have been domesticated far longer ;-)Nature goes with what works :-)
Leadership and dominance over your dog are different.
With Dogs Best Friends approach you can step up to the role of true leader, which your dog will actually love. BEWARE of ‘Dominance’ related approaches that can involve things like ‘Alpha Rolling’- forcably rolling your dog onto it’s back- so as to not destroy the potential for a truly beautiful relationship with your canine friend.
