Do your research about breed or perceived breed mix. If you can do this before getting your dog this is ideal but afterwards is helpful too. You want to look at what the dog needs in terms of mental stimulation and exercise for example.A good percentage of owners in my experience, underestimate the needs of their dogs. Exercise or lack of it, dramatically alters behaviour.Another tip, all members of the family need to be clear and consistent with each other (and within themselves) with the dogs training regime :-)
