Dog Behaviour. Why does my dog roll in feces?

A smelly topic but…
Why do dogs roll in feces?
Recent studies suggest that for dogs, rolling in feces may be to help camouflage them from larger predators in more wild situations - from predators such as Mountain Lions etc.
Also, when rolling in prey feces, it may be a way to carry information about where that individual has been and what they have then found (food wise from rolling in their preys feces) Selina McIntyre, Dog Behavioural Consultant and Dog Trainer, Dogs Best Friend.
