Dog behaviour, small dogs, exercise requirements, benefits of the walk
Have a small dog type (adult dog)?
I would still recommend two twenty minute walks per day.
As well as being for exercise, the walk is enriching and stimulating for your dog, like going for the ‘hunt’. [Read More…]

Dog behaviour, dogs on lead and dogs off lead…
The dynamic of a dog to dog social interaction is perceived differently, if your dog is on the lead and other dogs are off-lead – so the off-lead dogs are accessing freedom. I have witnessed many an instance where the more slightly lacking in confidence dog that is off-lead, encounters one that is on lead, then becomes a different individual altogether. Dog Training, the older dog
‘You CAN teach an old dog new tricks…’
It’s never really too late to teach an old dog new tricks or the ‘appropriate way to behave.’
You really need to get to the route of the issue (which is where I come in) and then my friends give it time. Give the older dog more time for repetition and possibly understanding and give YOURSELVES time. You have also potentially had a lifetime of ‘bad habits’, remember this. BUT, I deal with older dogs and their human ‘partners in crime’ ;-) and success is possible, please don’t give up,

Dog training, pack members, treatment and social dynamics
Your pack includes all dogs on your property. Sounds obvious right? But you may be implementing different rules and boundaries for one dog - they may be allowed inside for example and another is not. [Read More…]
