Dog Training, Dog Behaviour and Guy Fawkes Tip Three
*Guy Fawkes*
As promised,
following on with your Guy Fawkes Prep./Dealing with Noise Aversion in your dog.
Tip three.
Recordings of fireworks can be played while your dog is doing something fun. I recommend downloading the ‘Sound Proof Puppy Training’ App.
It has been developed with noises that typically can bring about a fear response (including fire works) and comes with detailed instructions for its use. Starting at a very low volume, you can reward relaxation/no/less response (depending on the intensity of your problem initially). When using a ’super tasty’ food treat, if your dog is not accepting this treat, he/she is too stressed and the intensity of the stimulus must to be decreased.
This process is about weeks of training, amounting to 10 minutes a day of your time with your dog. START THIS APPROACH NOW!
Stay tuned for tip 4….
