Dog Training, ‘Command’ Timing
Save yourself a lot of grief…A ‘Command’ word must be taught/learnt when your dog is doing the very exact action you want the command to mean.
For example the command “Off” for ‘Off the furniture’. Off must be said extremely quickly, the instant your dogs feet are all off the object or all on the ground (a very small window of time). Whilst it is important not to wait with this command it is also important not to say it too early. “Off” would then mean, ‘be on the couch’ for example.
Now that would be frustrating…
